Mesothelioma

Mesothelioma

Around 3,000 new cases of mesothelioma cancer are annually diagnosed by doctors in the United States.

Between 70-80% of persons with mesothelioma were exposed to asbestos at work, especially in industrial settings, shipyards, auto repair shops, old houses, schools and public buildings.

Symptoms may not show for 20-50 years making it difficult for oncologists to make definitive diagnosis earlier on.

Currently without a cure, continued efforts to progress research and treatment is essential!

How it works:

Asbestos inhalation occurs

Fibers lodge in mesothelial tissue

Fibers cause cellular damage, resulting in tumor growth
